Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
BookNextCourt ("we", "our", "us") is an online platform where people find and book sports courts, and where venue owners list their venues and take bookings. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
Information we collect
If you create an account or book a court:
- Your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored in a scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot read them.
- Your phone number and profile picture, if you choose to add them.
- Your booking details: the venue, court, date, time, price, booking reference and any notes you add.
- The payment receipt image you upload after paying the venue.
If you are a venue owner:
- Your name, email and phone number, and your venue's name, address, city, state, opening hours, courts, prices, photos, hall map and payment QR code.
- Payment receipts you upload when you pay for a subscription plan.
If you contact us:
- What you write in our Feedback form or when you ask to become a merchant: your name, email, phone number, venue details and your message.
Collected automatically when you use the site:
- Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open, the date and time, and the page you came from.
- A random visitor ID stored in a cookie, which lets us count visits.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, and to log you in.
- To make, hold, confirm and manage bookings, and to show the venue which bookings to expect.
- To send you emails you need, such as password reset links.
- To run venue subscriptions, and to check payments and receipts.
- To answer feedback, complaints and enquiries.
- To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Who can see your information
- The venue you book. The venue sees your name, phone number, booking details and receipt, because it needs them to confirm and honour your booking. Venue owners are responsible for how they use the details they receive.
- Our team. Our staff can see accounts, bookings and messages as needed to run the service and help you.
- Service providers. We use trusted companies to run the site, for example web hosting, Cloudflare (network security and delivery) and Brevo (sending emails). They only process data on our behalf.
- Authorities. We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect people and the platform from fraud or harm.
We do not sell your personal information.
Payments
BookNextCourt does not process your payments. You pay the venue directly, for example with a DuitNow or bank QR code, and upload a screenshot of the receipt. Please hide anything unrelated before you upload it (for example your account balance or other transactions). Receipt images are private: only you, the venue concerned and our staff can open them.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and browser storage that the site needs to work:
- Session and security cookies keep you logged in and protect forms from forgery.
- A "remember me" cookie, only if you tick that option when logging in.
- A visitor ID cookie (lasts about one year) that we use to count visits.
- Browser storage remembers choices such as light or dark mode.
We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this page before we start. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site (such as staying logged in) will not work without the essential ones.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as you have an account, and for as long as we need it to run bookings, handle disputes, keep business and tax records, and meet legal duties. Server logs are kept for a limited period. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Security
We protect your information with HTTPS, hashed passwords and restricted access for our staff. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and log out on shared devices.
Your choices and rights
- You can see and update your name, email, phone number, picture and password in your account page.
- You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account.
- You can withdraw your consent at any time. This may mean we can no longer provide some services to you.
To make a request, email us at [email protected]. We may need to confirm who you are first, and we may keep some records (for example past bookings) where we are required to, or need them to settle a dispute.
Children
BookNextCourt is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you on the site or by email.
